Model Carolyn Giles is furious over the people responsible of using her professional modeling pictures to appeared as a professional Swedish escort, She is suing Ford models, Volvo and Hertz with a $23 million lawsuit.
30-year-old Carolyn Giles is accusing Hertz or using her photos for a report to the Securities and Exchange Commission and in other several ads, as for Volvo, she was once hired and paid by them to promote their S40 model in 2007, but they are using her photos to promote several more models and in more than 30 countries.
But the worst was about to come, because Giles them found out that Fast Impression a Swedish escort agency was also using her photos to make her look like one of their escort girls.
the ads said..
Sexy Swedish models of all shapes and sizes, in the form of four spectacular Volvo cars, will be on hand to whisk you around the city for a 10 minute jaunt.
Compliments of Volvo, all guests will also have the chance to take part in Test Drive Dating. All you have to do is grab another single and jump in for some quality one-on-one time … or we’ll grab you a blind date and off you go!
“I can’t take Julia Roberts’ picture and advertise soap,” he said. “They started using her (Giles) as if they owned her.” Giles’s attorney commented.”
“This looks like a picture out of an ad for the old Yellow Pages for an escort service,” said her lawyer, David Jaroslawicz. “To use it in what’s literally a sleazy and inappropriate way is just wrong.”
The $23 million legal suit filed at Manhattan Supreme court, where Giles accuses Hertz Corporation of failing to compensate Giles even though it used her photo in a series of ads—including the online “escort” spot and a tourism brochure and suing Ford Models, her agency, for failing to protect her best interest.
