Danielle’s mother Cheryl is suing the Florida Highway Patrol..

‘Tell me that’s not excessive force. I’m not saying she was an angel, but she didn’t deserve that. He couldn’t reach out and grab her? He was an arm’s length away. My daughter is dead because of this. She won’t come back.’

  1. Criminal. She ran, she disobeyed the law. She committed a crime then tried to run. How can her mother sit there smugly, whining that her poor daughter was just a victim of circumstance. Your daughter didn’t follow the rules. She didn’t obey the law. She was involved in a hit and run, and then tried to get away after being apprehended. Are you kidding. What were the police supposed to do ? Sorry but when when you defiantly think you are above the law and you try to flee, looks what happened. She brought this all on herself and did it to herself! You can not blame anyone else for HER OWN ACTIONS BUT HER! Perhaps if she behaved like a law abiding citizen she would not be in this mess now. Admit it ….the girl did wrong, then compounded her wrong doing by trying to get away and it is all captured on film. Shame on her family for raising a dishonest, sneaky girl!

  2. Summer what an ignorant individual you are. Can’t you seperate things from one another?First of all whether she was involved in criminal activities or not the force used upon her was over excessive. And then to make such a comment about her family like it’s their fault.Sometimes people choose to follow their own path how trippy it may seem to others. Therefore it is not fair to judge her family. You are a narrowminded judgemental person.Anyone who doesn’t know you is a happy person i would say..

  3. Here’s what I wrote the Governor, and MANY troopers in the FHP:

Governor Scott, FHP Executive Director Jones, Deputy Director Conklin, Chiefs Brown, Carrick, Guzman and Knight, Colonel Brierton, Major Thomas and Advisory Council,

I just finished watching Trooper Cole be so overwhelmed by the fleeing, handcuffed, 100-pound Danielle Maudsley that he had to taze her.

Let me preface my comments by saying that I am a Tazer supporter. Rather than an officer have to fight with another man his size and risk injury to himself, if the perp doesn’t obey the officer’s command, I think he forfeits his right to civility. This was not the case.

Several times I’ve listened to her head hit the cement like a falling watermelon and then listened to her lay there and whimper. Now she’s braindead. It’s heartbreaking.

It’s unbelievable that a man that size chose to tazer her on a hard surface rather pursue and grab her, unless of course he was too overweight to catch her. Looks like to me he was RIGHT BEHIND HER. What a poor reflection on the rest of the level-headed, hard working Troopers in the FHP. Now the taxpayers of Florida will have to pay for her care 24/7 and whatever penalty the courts decide.

And why am I not surprised to read, “The Florida Department of Law Enforcement determined Trooper Daniel Cole’s ‘use of force’ was justified. You’ve just demonstrated to the public once more what the “Brotherhood” is all about.

I’ll tell you one thing. IF THAT HAD BEEN MY DAUGHTER OR WIFE, I’D TAKE A SLEDGEHAMMER TO THE BACK OF TROOPER COLE’S HEAD and see how he fared.

Name and address withheld here but not on the original e-mail.

  4. I agree that this girl was wrong in every sense of the word but she’s a petite little thing and all she was doing was running handcuffed. A guy twice her size couldn’t catch her??? How far would she have run? There was no reason to taser her. I am all for police doing what they have to do in a situation but this clearly wasn’ t needed.

  5. i dont think one person should taser another person , forget ”law” when you think justices. the man has the taser out whilst the women runs means the man had no intention of trying to capture this women. i dont know this daniel cole but im sure ther ant many things thats worths being brain dead.
