Jessica Buchanan Is American Hostage by Somalia Pirates Rescued By SEALs Team Six

Meet Jessica Buchanan she is the American woman who was been held hostage in Somali and later rescued by Seal Team 6 the same team that killed Osama Bin Laden.

On October 25th. 32 year-old Jessica Buchanan was abducted along her Danish colleague 60 year-old Poul Hagen Thisted at Galkayo in the Galmudug region in Somalia.

Jessica who works for a Danish Refugee Council (the DDG have been clearing mines and unexploded ordnance in conflict zones in Africa and the Middle East), providing food, shelter to hundred no thousand of Somalis in Mogadishu [the group has been helping Somalia since 1998] was checking  the humanitarian labor in Galkayo at the  time of her abduction. Protesters in Somalia showed their support  for Jessica and Poul when they demanded their freedom.

“Paul and Jessica are in Somalia to assist and support people in need. They have been accepted in Somalia as guests, but now they are kidnapped by criminals. We want them released,”

President Obama authorized the raid  to rescued Jessica Buchanan and Mr. Thisted  by Seal Team 6 on Monday, by Tuesday afternoon a few minutes after he headed to the Capitol for the State of The Union speech he was informed Jessica had been rescued, he called John Buchanan, Jessica’s dad to informed him his daughter has been rescued. He did not mentioned anything about the rescued on his speech however he did said “Good Job Tonight”  when he spotted Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.

On the early hours of Wednesday President Obama, released the following statement.

“Thanks to the extraordinary courage and capabilities of our Special Operations Forces, yesterday Jessica Buchanan was rescued and she is on her way home. As commander-in-chief, I could not be prouder of the troops who carried out this mission, and the dedicated professionals who supported their efforts.”

“Jessica Buchanan was selflessly serving her fellow human beings when she was taken hostage by criminals and pirates who showed no regard for her health and well-being,’ President Obama said.

‘The United States will not tolerate the abduction of our people, and will spare no effort to secure the safety of our citizens and to bring their captors to justice.’

The rescue mission was rushed when  it was informed Jessica Buchanan’s health was deteriorating, while there has not been any confirmation about what was the problem with Ms. Buchanan’s health it is suspected kidney infection might have been the problem, the operation occurred about 12 miles north of the town of Adow.

The raiders came in very quickly, catching the guards as they were sleeping after having chewed the narcotic leaf qat for much of the evening. Bile Hussein a pirate said.

Bile who spoke to others pirates who were present at the raid told him nine pirates were dead after the raid and three were missing. Two teams of U.S. Navy SEALs landed by helicopter and rescued the hostages after a gun battle with the kidnappers. The hostages were taken to an undisclosed location.
