Debra Tate is one of the two sisters actress Sharon Tate had, Debra is speaking about the auction of her sister’s engagement ring which was reportedly on the actress; hand the night she was murdered, but Debra sais it wasn’t, Besides this find out more about Sharon’s Tate younger sister below.
Debra Tate’s older sister was just 26 when she was murdered by Charles Manson and his cult member on August 8, 1969, she was married to movie director Roman Polaski and 8 and a half months pregnant, that day? Debra called Sharon asking her if she and her other sister Patti could spend the night at her house, but Sharon’s said no, if on that day Debra and her sister would have been at the house, they would have been killed as well, Debra was 17 at the time Patti was 11.
Debra Ann Tate the middle child of Colonel Paul James Tate and his wife, Doris Gwendolyn (née Willett) she was born in El Paso, Texas on November 6th, 1952, her other sister is Patti, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 2000. Debra got married in November 15 1984 to William E. Mussenden, their daughter and only child Arieana Tate Mussenden, was born on May 25, 1985.
After her mother’s death in July 10, 1992 (brain tumor) her sister Patti continued to work on her mother’s foundation the Doris Tate Crime Victims Bureau, when Patti died 11 years ago on June 3rd, 2002 at the age of 42, Debra took over.
Over the years we have seen Debra starring as herself in several television shows and documentaries plus she has been a guest in Dateline NBC and Larry King where she talked about her sister and brother in-law director Roman Polanski in his sexual abuse case, where Debra continued defend his innocence.
Just a few days ago, the auction website GottaHaveRockandRoll.com claim the ring they have, was given to Sharon by Roman as an engagement, they added the ring was taken from Tate hand when she was murder, but Debra said that is not entirely true, the ring was in fact Sharon’s but she wasn’t wearing it and it wasn’t her engagement ring.
Because Sharon was pregnant, she couldn’t fit any rings on her finger.’
Roman gave this to her the our-carat opal stone surrounded by garnet gem as a symbol of their relationship and a year before their 1967 wedding, and she gave to a friend, Pete Siegel, from the auction house he got the ring from a friend of Polaski who needed the money to pay some debts. The starting price is $10.000 the auction begins Nov. 30 and ends Dec. 9th.
